The pessimist complains about the wind;
The optimist expects it to change;
The realist adjusts the sails
-William Arthur Ward, author
It goes without saying that the world we live in – complete with hurricanes, shootings, war, politics – can be daunting, confusing, and heartbreaking at times. I too feel this when I read the news headlines and I question “what is going on?” But after a bit of time stewing in the lower vibrating energy of asking why and how could they, I know it’s time to step up to the higher perspective. I take a moment to find my center, breathe into the present moment where my mind chatter calms down, and realize that the best I can do to help is to hold my own energy high in the face of the pain – and growth – going on in our world.
While I don’t ignore what’s going on in the news, I do make a conscious choice not to become addicted to the drama. It’s easy to be sucked into the news cycle, where the effects can be felt both emotionally and physically in the body. So while I choose not to trivialize events going on, I also choose not to let them darken my personal energy space. This does a disservice to those who are suffering. Instead, by consciously holding ourselves in a space of light, that is the wavelength we broadcast to the world. And this is how the world grows and changes even in the midst of pain.
But it all starts with each of us making the conscious choice to keep our space – our headspace, our heartspace – open to our Source (light, or God, or The Field, or your Divine Self).
Then when driven to take action – it’s rooted from a place of light and forward momentum rather than a place of anger and re-action.
I’m going to repost an original posting from Suzanne Giesemann, a wonderful spiritual teacher/medium/channel, that she sent out as her daily email yesterday. Suzanne channels higher spirit in a very healing way, and sends out a daily message that she receives from them, which she refers to as “Sanaya”. I trust she will be okay with me sending this out to spread the word. I found it very fitting.
Finger Pointing (source: https://www.suzannegiesemann.com/finger-pointing/)
More killing. You immediately think of your stereotypes. Sooner or later they all fit your stereotypes, for until you realize who you all are, the separation will create this group against that group against that group. The sickness is not in the soul. The soul is your salvation. The instruments used are not to blame, the sickness of the human belief system is the current cause. As long as anger is the response, the killing will continue. Now hear us well: There is no death. Get out of your “woe is me” mentality and into “It’s all about we.” If we are to survive, we must address what is lacking, and that is understanding who you are: multi-dimensional beings, and why you are here: to serve each other in remembering this. Blame and finger pointing solve nothing until you turn that finger toward yourself and find the compassion which leads to peace which leads to coherence instead of separation. You have a way to go, but it begins right here and right now with you and you and you and you uniting.
I thought that was beautifully said.
In gratitude,
Nicki
